Do you need Speaker or Audio cables to perform an installation in a public space?
Do you need to set up a LAN that complies with FRLSZH standards?
Emelec VíasCom has several ranges of halogen-free cables designed for these needs. Below we explain their characteristics and show you the different types of cables.
Description of the FRLSZH cables
FRLSZH cables use FRLSZH materials for the manufacture of their sheaths and insulation. We call these materials because they are flame retardant, have a low smoke emission and are halogen free.
Normally they are used to manufacture polyolefins, tpu, pur... instead of the commonly used PVC.
We achieve safer cables in terms of protecting people in the event of fire, although it is true that the resulting cables are more rigid than their PVC counterparts, which are characterised by their great flexibility.
Description of the properties FRLSZH
The properties to be fulfilled are governed by the following standards.
- Not flame spreader.
Complies with IEC 60332-1-2 (vertical flame propagation test) This standard refers to the fact that the fire will be self-extinguished in the cable when the fire source is extinguished.
- Low smoke emission.
Complies with IEC 61034-2 (smoke density measurement test) This standard limits the smoke that must be released from the cable when it burns in order to ensure a minimum visibility for people to escape.
- Halogen-free.
Complies with IEC 60754-1 (test to determine the content of halogenated acid gases) and 60754-2 (test to determine the acidity pH and conductivity of combustion gases). No gases harmful to human health are emitted from the cable in the event of fire.
Speaker Cables FRLSZH
We have cables for the connection of speakers with the following sections
Q15-215HF (1.50 mm²)
Q15-225HF (2.50 mm²)
Q15-240HF (4.00 mm²)
FRLSZH Digital Audio Cables
For digital audio, the reference Q3-1110HF manufactured with FRLSZH materials is intended for all types of indoor installations that require AES/EBU signal transport or lighting control under the DMX standard with an impedance characteristic of 110Ω.
The cable consists of two flexible copper conductors with a cross-section of 0.35 mm², an aluminum tape shield with 100% coverage and another in the form of a tinned copper mesh with 80% coverage plus a drainage wire also made of tinned copper.
Analog Audio Cables FRLSZH
For analogue audio, the reference Q3-128HF is also prepared for use in public buildings due to its halogen-free materials. It consists of two flexible copper conductors with a cross-section of 0.35 mm², an aluminium tape screen with 100% coverage and another in the form of a tinned copper mesh with 75% coverage.
Cat.6A and Cat.7A Data Cables
For data transmission in LAN local area networks that must comply with FRLSZH standards, we offer Cat.6A and Cat.7A LAN cables
They are cables with BC (Polished Copper) conductors that offer excellent conductivity. They have effective protection against electromagnetic interference and crosstalk thanks to their individual screens in pairs and are compatible with RJ45 connectors.
The Q18-776 Cat.6A cable is able to work with signals up to 500MHz frequency, while the Q18-780 Cat.7A cable can work with signals up to 1000MHz frequency.
