The MAC Mercat Audiovisual de Catalunya fair was originally created as a meeting point for the entire audiovisual sector in Catalonia. Both for its capacity to generate business in the technological field and for the promotion of the production and exchange of contents.
Almost 20 years later, this annual event has evolved into an important platform in the field of proximity communication.
The professional public, in addition to attending the lectures and presentations, can visit the exhibition spaces of Fira MAC and find out about the latest technology and the main companies in the sector.
One of the highlights is the Speech Corner, a multipurpose space that hosts information sessions and product and service demonstrations in a short, agile format.
In the last editions, the program also dedicates special attention to the new platforms, tools and applications of the digital world. From connected TV to mobile applications, from video games to virtual and augmented reality, from big data to the phenomenon of youtubers and influencers. The aim is to continue analysing how this digital explosion is shaping new communication and business models.
MAC arrives punctually, every June, and currently has its headquarters in Roca Umbert Fàbrica de les Arts. It occupies more than 2,000 square meters of this former textile factory reconverted into a multidisciplinary cultural space and production center at the service of creative processes, artistic training and dialogue among the arts, with special cooperation with the audiovisual industry.
