There are several types of connectors designed for use on coaxial cables. Emelec ViasCom stocks several of the most commonly used ones in different sizes for assembly on all our coaxial cables.
BNC connectors
The BNC connectors, both for 50Ω and 75Ω applications, are especially known for being used to transmit digital SDI video signal in its 75Ω version. The 50Ω version is used for the transmission of certain data between devices or on measuring instruments.
Usually, they can work at a frequency of up to 4 GHz although there are BNCs specially designed to be able to transmit video signals in 4K at a frequency of 12 GHz in a stable way.
- Male BNC connectors from 50Ω and 75Ω
- The material is a zinc-copper alloy. They offer less attenuation and less insertion loss than their zinc counterparts.
- Built by CNC machines to avoid impurities and to provide robustness and similarity to all the adapters avoiding a negative and uneven effect of the performance.
- Gold-plated pins.
- High quality nickel finish.
- Versions of 50Ω compatible with Emelec VíasCom cables: Q11-178, Q11-174U, Q11-100A, Q11-223, Q11-58CU, Q11-195
- Q11-214S, Q11-213U, Q11-08AU, Q11-400 and derivatives thereof.
- 75Ω versions compatible with Emelec VíasCom cables: Q11-179, Q11-59BU, Q11-06U, Q11-11AU and derivatives of these.
In Emelec VíasCom we also have BNC connectors specially designed to work with 3G and 4K SDI video signals. These connectors, with their careful design and finish, reduce insertion loss in the signal, which allows optimum operation over long lengths.
- Male BNC connectors from 75Ω for 3G-SDI signals Capable of working at frequencies up to 3 GHz.

TNC Connectors
The TNC connectors, both for 50Ω and 75Ω applications, are a frequency-enhanced version compared to the BNC connectors, allowing stable operation at higher frequencies (up to 11 GHz).
Although it is not as standardized as the BNC and its use is not as common, it is mainly used in different radio applications and the connection of wireless signal transmitting devices.
